What makes us the best
Orton Gillingham Trained
Certified Dyslexia Interventionist
Certified Dyslexia Interventionist
Being Orton-Gillingham trained through IMSE means a teacher is specially equipped to use a structured, explicit, and systematic approach to teaching reading and spelling. This method is particularly beneficial for students with an IEP or those receiving tutoring, as it is multisensory, engaging sight, sound, and movement simultaneously to help learners grasp how language works. Each lesson is tailored to individual needs and builds step-by-step, ensuring that no gaps are overlooked—because reading struggles often hide in those gaps. This approach is especially effective for homeschool students and those with dyslexia or other reading difficulties, and it’s backed by decades of solid research. Additionally, it serves as a valuable bridgewood for students who may also have a 504 plan.

Certified Dyslexia Interventionist
A Certified Dyslexia Interventionist is a professional who has completed advanced training and certification in identifying and remediating dyslexia. They utilize evidence-based, structured literacy approaches to explicitly teach reading, spelling, and writing skills suitable for various educational settings, including homeschool environments. Instruction is individualized, data-driven, and adjusted based on ongoing student progress, ensuring that there is no guesswork or reliance on 'hope it sticks' strategies. This certification guarantees that the interventionist meets rigorous standards and is equipped to help students with IEPs or those requiring 504 plans turn their reading struggles into measurable gains. Additionally, they can provide specialized tutoring tailored to each student's unique needs, making them a valuable resource for families navigating the challenges of dyslexia, whether in a traditional school or a homeschool setting.
Certified K-6 & ESE teacher
Masters Degree in Mental Health
Masters Degree in Mental Health
A Florida Certified K–6 & ESE Teacher is a licensed educator qualified to teach elementary students, including those receiving Exceptional Student Education (ESE) services and 504 accommodations. This certification ensures that these educators are trained to support students with diverse learning needs, disabilities, and learning differences through effective tutoring and appropriate instructional strategies. Familiar with IEPs, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction—key elements that truly matter—these teachers know how to meet students where they are and help them advance. Additionally, at Bridgewood, we offer resources for families interested in homeschooling, ensuring that all students receive the attention they need to succeed.

Masters Degree in Mental Health
A Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling provides advanced graduate-level training in understanding emotional, behavioral, and psychological development. This expertise enables us to identify how anxiety, attention issues, trauma, and emotional regulation affect learning and behavior, which is especially important for students on a 504 plan or IEP. We believe in a whole-child approach, recognizing that academic struggles in a homeschool setting seldom occur in isolation. In practice, this means that our tutoring is informed by both educational needs and mental wellness, effectively bridging the gap for students.
